אתה משלים אותי/ גראפיטי

As the city of Tel Aviv laid themselves to rest on the night before White Night, a group of street artists began their journey.  They had all their supplies ready.  They had their route planned.  Most importantly, they had their vision; to create a gigantic interactive graffiti project in the entire city of Tel Aviv.

At one in the morning, our crew set off to follow the anonymous artists through the Israeli city.  They traveled all through the main streets of Tel Aviv to tag their posters on everything they could reach, from street signs to fences.  With a bucket of homemade glue in one hand and a large brush in the other, they layered the city with their art.

The poster contains a picture of half of a face, with the words “You Complete Me.”  The idea is simple, give the city unfinished art and let individuals complete it.  The face needs completion and anyone can do it, in any style they choose, and with whatever tools they want.

With hundreds of thousands of people expected to converge into Tel Aviv for the annual all night celebration of White Night, these artists saw an opportunity to give the people freedom to create.

White night is only hours away and the city is filled with hundreds of the posters, waiting to be completed.  Tomorrow, we will see the results.
